ABO discrepancies happen when the forward type and reverse type don’t agree, and understanding them is essential for both the MLS exam and real Blood Bank work. Forward typing tests the patient’s red cells for A and B antigens, while reverse typing tests the patient’s plasma for expected antibodies. A discrepancy means the antigen and antibody patterns don’t match. Common causes incl
